RELAXING WALKING TOUR

We meet at the Arkeos Shop, via Quattro Novembre 143 and reach Piazza Venezia (Venice Square). You have a beautiful view of the largest monument in Europe dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy, housing also the tomb of the unknown soldier.
Passing nearby the Capitol Hill, we reach the Theater of Marcellus with the spectacular remains. It has been built in the 1st century BC. for the nephew of Augustus. Your can admire the marble columns and even some medieval houses. This is one of the most beautiful corners of Rome touching with your eyes thousand of years of history.
We walk through the remains reaching the Ghetto, the Jewish quarter of Rome with the Synagogue built at the end of the 19th century.
In a few minutes, we will reach the Tiber Island, a tiny little island in the middle of the river connected with two bridges.
The “Pons Fabricius” or “Ponte dei Quattro Capi”, the oldest Roman bridge still existing in its original state, built in 62 BC, leads to the island and the “Pons Cestius” leads to Trastevere.
Now, reaching quay of the Tiber where we take the river boat and relax. Within about 20 minutes we reach Saint Angel’s Castle , built by the Roman emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD as Mausoleum for himself and his family. Later turned into a fortress
of the popes, today a museum.
On request: visit Saint Angel’s Castle inside or walk to Navona Square one of the most beautiful squares in Rome with the most astonishing fountais ever created, Bernini’s “Fountain of the Four Rivers”. There are so many restaurant where you can spend e nice evening.
